Online Office
Welcome to our online office
Orleans Online Driving School is Welcoming You To Its Online Office
1. Why is this Online office?
2. What does it mean?
3. How does it work?
Those are the first questions that come to mind, and maybe more!
With pleasure, the owner of the school, Rola, will answer these questions and any other ones you might have.
Why is this Online office?
First of all, let me talk about the nature of OODS (Orleans Online Driving School). OODS is a new driving school that is approved by the Ministry of Transportation in Ontario (MTO) to conduct the following classes of driving instruction under section 58.1 of the HTA.
In-vehicle driving instruction in the preparation of a Class G motor vehicle provided to a holder of a Class G1, G2, or G driver’s license in a driver education course provided by the ministry; and Classroom driving instruction in the operation of a Class G motor vehicle is provided to a person who doesn’t hold a driver’s license or who holds a Class G1 or G2 driver’s license in a driver education course approved by the ministry.
So OODS is a regular driving school like all the other driving schools in Canada but it is the first one in Ottawa that does not have a physical classroom or office. It is understood why it is possible not to have a physical classroom since we are offering the online digital BDE course( for the theory part), but all other services will be in-person in our instructors’ cars.
Although not having a physical office is allowed by the MTO, as a result of Covid-19 circumstances, people need to discuss their needs, sometimes, by talking to a real person face to face( not over the phone only) so the idea of having an Online office came to mind to be the best solution for this matter.
What does it mean?
After browsing our website you might have some questions, calling us is the first thing you probably think about, with pleasure we will answer them, but if you want to meet us in our office (which is located in my home, Rola) and to keep my family’s privacy away from my work, you can meet me virtually through zoom or google meet at your convenient time.
How does it work?
OODS is using the digital program for in-classroom lessons, the beginner driver education course (BDE course) for the theory part of it, so all of the 20 hours theory lessons will be available online for our students to study from anywhere at any time since they have connection to the internet( using their own computers).
The office services (most of them) usually get done over the phone, for all driving schools, but there are other office services required to have a physical location. Although the MTO allowed the owner of an online school to prepare a physical office in his/her house for these needs but at OODS we found out that it would be more convenient to prepare a virtual online office so people can discuss their needs by talking to a real person face to face without having a need to make a visit to the house.
